Liturgical Ministries

Liturgical Ministers are lay people who volunteer to assist the Ordinary Ministers with various tasks associated with the Holy Mass.

EXTRAORDINARY MINISTER:

The role of an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion is to assist the priest, the Ordinary Minister, with the distribution of Holy Communion. EMs are scheduled or assigned to a specific mass time.

Responsibilities:

LECTOR:

The Minister of Lector calls us to be living servants of the Living Word of God, as we proclaim the scripture readings at the Liturgy. The readers will arrive in the church 15 minutes before Mass.

ALTAR SERVICE:

The role of the Altar Server is to assist the Priests and Deacons during the Liturgy of the Mass.

Responsibilities:

HEALTH CARE:

Provide as needed medical assistance/assessment to those gathered during Mass as required. The first aid box is located in the Sacristy. We invite medical practitioners and nurses to come forward during Mass and help in times of emergencies if required.

USHER:

The Usher Minister welcomes the community/people with a smile and hands them a Parish Bulletin as they enter into the celebration of Mass.

MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION TO THE SICK

The role of this Minster is to bring the Holy Eucharist to those who are homebound due to illness or other factors. Delivery arrangements are made via the Parish office.

Liturgy Support Ministries

LINEN:

The Linen Ministry assists in the preparation of supplies needed for the liturgy.

Responsibilities:

SOUND & VIDEO:

These ministries provide the IT technical support for the Mass

CANDLEABRA CLEANERS:

These Ministers after the 7am Mass on Mondays, clean up the wax and change the foil and gel it.
